Tapas isn’t always about pushing harder—it’s about staying with discomfort long enough to learn from it. This week, we focus on the transformative power of showing up when it would be easier to check out. What would it feel like to choose growth over comfort, again and again?
Weekly Yoga Practice: Meet the Edge
Work with balancing and arm-strengthening poses to develop mental and physical resilience.
Suggested Sequence:
Eagle Pose (both sides)
Crow Pose or Crow Prep
Boat Pose (hold for 30 seconds, repeat x3)
Dolphin Pose
Tip: Breathe deeply when the mind says “I can’t.” You might surprise yourself.
Our mantra for the week is…
Each breath is a choice. I choose growth over comfort.
Our journaling prompts are…
What have I been avoiding that could actually help me grow?
How does resistance show up in my body or behaviors?
What’s one small, courageous act I can take this week to meet discomfort?
And our meditation is…a meditation to breathe into feeling
Sit in stillness and scan your body. Where do you feel tightness, resistance, or tension? Rather than changing anything, simply witness it. Label what you feel with compassion: “tension,” “boredom,” “anxiety,” etc. Do this for 5–10 minutes.
