Cultivating a Gratitude Practice

Gratitude is a powerful practice that can transform your life and illuminate your spirit. When you focus on what you’re grateful for, you shift your perspective from lack to abundance. This shift helps you recognize the beauty and blessings in your life, making your inner light shine even brighter.


Start by setting aside a few minutes each day to reflect on what you’re thankful for. You can write in a gratitude journal or simply take a moment to list things in your mind. Focus on the small things as well as the big ones—your morning coffee, a kind word from a friend, the warmth of the sun.


As you make gratitude a daily habit, you’ll find that you start to notice more things to be grateful for. This practice not only lifts your spirits but also attracts more positivity into your life. When you live in a state of gratitude, your light naturally shines brighter, radiating warmth and positivity to those around you.


Gratitude helps you stay connected to your true self and the world around you. It reminds you of the good in your life and fuels your spirit with joy and contentment. Let your light shine by cultivating a heart full of gratitude, and watch as it illuminates your path and inspires others.

Think about someone who inspires you spiritually. What qualities do they possess, and how can you cultivate similar qualities in yourself?

What does the word "spirit" mean to you? How do you define your own spiritual beliefs and practices?


And our meditation is…a meditation to embrace your true self


Find a comfortable position, either seated or lying down. Close your eyes gently and take a deep breath in through your nose, filling your lungs completely. Hold that breath for a moment, and then exhale slowly through your mouth, releasing any tension.


As you breathe, bring your attention inward. Picture a warm light at the center of your being, representing your true self. With each inhale, imagine this light growing brighter and more expansive. Let it fill your chest, spreading warmth and comfort throughout your body.


Acknowledge any thoughts or doubts that arise, but allow them to drift away like clouds in the sky. Return your focus to the light within you. This light embodies your essence—your strengths, your passions, and your unique qualities.


With each breath, affirm to yourself: “I embrace my true self. I am enough as I am.” Allow this affirmation to resonate, feeling the truth of it settle into your being.


Take a few more deep breaths, feeling the light shine brighter with each inhalation. When you’re ready, slowly bring your awareness back to the room. Open your eyes, carrying this sense of acceptance and authenticity with you.
